Hi All,
Word from the Wail on the Road. We be in DC last night played at The Corner Store in Capitol Hill. Tonight, Thursday to Harrisonburg, VA to play at The Clementine Cafe. On Friday we make the drive north to Sartatoga Springs NY and the most excellent Caffe Lena. Saturday it's over to Boston for a live recording of Says You - NPR show. Then it's westward ho back to MadTown.
We have had the mother of all tours and have met some of greatest music lovers and made a ton of new friends. Thank you tried and true wail fans for coming out and welcome to the tribe all you new friends.
We now have new homes in; Cleveland / NightTown, -- as we were loading in we saw a poster of bassist Ray Brown's performance at Night Town shortly before he passed. Wow, we be in presence of greatness! Thank you Jim and Cleveland friends - we will be back!
Washington DC / The Corner Store and Jazz at the Madison Hotel, -- we ALWAYS love playing the Elana Byrd gigs - Jazz at the Madison AND Jazz at the Powerhouse in Annapolis and hope to return asap. The Corner Store (last night) was fantastic! We have been invited back when ever we are coming back to the area - again , working on April. We love The Corner Store.
Brooklyn / Barbes, - Wow - This is the perfect Brooklyn / NYC gig spot. Playing with the guitar wizard Stephane Wrembel was top of the top - Stephane is a gem, his band is killer and we absolutely love Barbes!
Baltimore / Germano's, - unfortunately we had a postpone this date to next April. I can't say enough about the owners - we are sympatico and will most definately book an April date, now we just need Baltimore fans.
Harrisonburg VA/Clementine Cafe- today's trip - down the Shanendoah Valley - gret people to work with - I'll let you know how it all goes.
