The Madison Area Music Association awards ceremony is held every June and raises money to get instruments in to the school system.  Our buddy, MAMA director and founder Rick Tvedt has been working the MAMAs for more than a decade and has done almighty work - we are proud to help get school kids into music and give them a chance at artistic self expression.  It is also the highest of honors to be chosen by a jury of our peers.    So the first awards go to the schools who will benefit from The MAMA's fine work - secondly we The Wail would like to honor ALL the winners and contestants in the awards ceremony.

And here is what we the Wail brought home.

Jazz Performer of the Year - Harmonious Wail

and the winner is ......Mr Robert Legler from Mt. Pleasant, WI wins a complete package of all the HW recordings.

Saturday evening June 4, 2011 , the Wail had the pleasure of performing as the featured guests of the Wisconsin Dairy Statesmen vocal ensemble.  We had a hoot and the crowd was perfect,  as were the Dairy Statesmen - a good time was had by all.

We ran a contest/drawing - drop your biz card into the fish bowl and we will draw one name for a set of all the HW recordings.  Way to go Robert -- thanks to all who attended the show and a big thank you to the Wisc. Dairy Statesmen.

Hi All,  June at last!  We have been having a gas getting the new wail up and running - last weekend we sold out The Brink Lounge.  Thank you to all - we are ecstatic to report that the Wail has gotten thru a transition and is better than ever! We have already added a few new tunes and are as interested as you (hopefully) to see just where this new musical path will lead.  We will get recording asap and post some mp3's of the new stuff.  Looking forward to getting to my hometown Racine this coming weekend.  Check out the details at the calendar page - if you can't come to the show we will be at Mike and Angelo's for an after show thing - this Sat - June 4.
